"an alternative to the 'pile-0it-high-sell-it-cheap' aesthetic of mainstream magazines" I think that they have chosen to promote oh comely as an alternative magazine and represent the rest of the magazines as inferior good compared to their own and that anyone who reads anything other then theirs is some sort of sheet following the heard.

2) How do the print circulation/readership statistics for Oh Comely compare to Men's Health?


The print circulation and readership statistics for Oh Comely are much lower than Men's Health as they target a more niche audience and do not make it so that it appeals to everyone  

3) How is Oh Comely distributed to the audience?


Oh comely is distributed to the audience through companies which are not particularly known for selling magazines such as WHSmith, however are easily accessible to readers who would like to purchase the copies of the magazine.

4) What do you think the target audience demographics for Oh Comely might be? Some details are provided 
by the magazine (e.g. average age 27) but make an educated guess on further demographic details.

Their target audience demographics are middle aged people aged from 27-35 and people who are intellectuals who think of themselves as prestigious and wouldn't have an issue paying the slightly increased price tag in order to have some sort of exclusive experience in their magazine.

5) What psychographic groups might be attracted to Oh Comely?

The main psycho-graphic groups would be explorers and reformers as their content tends to be very different and adventurous in comparison to other magazines which would probably attract these sorts of customers.

6) What social class classification would you expect most Oh Comely readers to be? Why?

I would expect most of the Oh Comely readers to be middle class women , there is a lot about other cultures, a quality which I think middle class white people are looking for, a change in culture as such.
7) What level of education would you expect for most Oh Comely readers? Why?

I expect them to have a high level of education and expect that they are likely a ABC1 readers and would like to indulge in this sort of reading simply because it is different.

8) What audience pleasures are offered by Oh Comely?

The design for Oh Comely is quite minimal, yet it does this to focus on the articles about the people who they could be like and 

9) It has been suggested Oh Comely is a “magazine about people, their quirks and creativity rather than money and what it can buy”. How does the design and advertising content of Oh Comely support this view?

The design particularly for the front cover is very limited for a reason and left blank as this potentially gives the reader the view that they are not like other brands who are in it for the money and force advertisements down your throat, and are however on your side.
10) Why do you think Oh Comely has been able to build a loyal audience of subscribers in the eight years since it launched? Think about audience demand, rival magazines and the overall media landscape in the digital age.

It can be argued that Oh Comely has been able to maintain a loyal audience through the clear observation that this women's lifestyle magazine is a completely different take on this genre.
